Sorted is built by James Hibbert as an independent app. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Sorted collects only what is necessary to provide the service:

Account information — if you choose to create an account, we collect your email address via Firebase Authentication. Account creation is optional; the app is fully usable in guest mode without providing any personal information.
Planner data — your modules, tasks, deadlines, and study sessions are stored locally on your device using SQLite. This data is not transmitted to any external server.
App usage — basic, anonymous usage patterns are recorded locally to power the insights and scheduling features. This data never leaves your device.

Guest Mode

Sorted can be used entirely without creating an account. In guest mode, no personal information is collected or transmitted. All data is stored locally on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the app.

How We Use Your Information

Your email address is used solely to identify your account and allow you to sign in across devices.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
We do not use your information for advertising purposes.
Your planner data is never accessed by us — it lives on your device.

Firebase Authentication

If you create an account, Sorted uses Google Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in. Firebase may collect certain technical information as part of its service. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

In-App Purchases

Sorted offers an optional Plus subscription. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not receive or store your payment information.

Data Retention

If you delete your account or uninstall the app, your locally stored planner data is removed from your device. Account data held by Firebase can be deleted by contacting us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

Sorted is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
